Ingredients for Wine Poached Pears Recipe

  • Pears 3 large

  • White Wine 2 cups

  • Castor sugar 3/4 cup

  • Cinnamon stick 1 inch

  • Scoops of vanilla ice cream for serving


Step 1

Halve pears, remove core leaving the stems intact.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick pan.

Step 3

Spread ½ cup sugar on a plate, coat cut side of pear halves in it and place them in hot pan. Cook on high heat till the pears are caramelized. Add white wine, remaining castor sugar, cinnamon stick and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat till the pears are poached.

Step 4

Remove from heat, cool down to room temperature.

Step 5

Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream in center of a serving plate, arrange the poached pears around the ice cream, garnish with cinnamon stick and serve immediately.
