Relish a salad platter of thinly sliced tomatoes, with chunks of mozzarella, a drizzle of olive oil, sliced black olives and basil leaves. Arrange in concentric circles on a nice white plate. The word relish is just perfect here. And not just salads, for all those rich and good-looking Indian preps, the very famous onion-tomato masala is a must! Then, there are soups, beverages (call for the Bloody Mary!), snacks and even desserts made of these plump red things. Even the green ones are in use today. Must say, terrific tomatoes!

Ingredients for Tomato and Goat Cheese Salad Recipe

  • Tomatoes 4-5 medium

  • Goat Cheese 50 grams

  • Green olives 6-8

  • Round slices of black olives 1 tablespoon

  • For Dressing

  • Olive oil 4 tablespoons

  • Fresh mint leaves 12-15 + for garnishing

  • Pickled jalapenos 4-5

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Mustard powder 1 teaspoon


Step 1

Slice tomatoes and arrange on a serving platter.

Step 2

Crumble goat cheese and sprinkle over tomatoes.

Step 3

For dressing, blend together olive oil, mint leaves, jalapenos, lemon juice, salt and mustard powder to a fine paste.

Step 4

Add green and black olives to the tomatoes in the serving plate, pour the dressing on top, garnish with mint leaves and serve immediately.
