Relish a salad platter of thinly sliced tomatoes, with chunks of mozzarella, a drizzle of olive oil, sliced black olives and basil leaves. Arrange in concentric circles on a nice white plate. The word relish is just perfect here. And not just salads, for all those rich and good-looking Indian preps, the very famous onion-tomato masala is a must! Then, there are soups, beverages (call for the Bloody Mary!), snacks and even desserts made of these plump red things. Even the green ones are in use today. Must say, terrific tomatoes!

Ingredients for Tomato Pesto Pizza Recipe

  • Tomatoes 2 large

  • Whole Wheat Pizza Bases 2 tablespoons

  • Whole wheat pizza bases 2 small

  • Onions 2 medium

  • Schezwan chutney 2 tablespoons

  • Cheese spread 4 tablespoons

  • Grated processed cheese 50 grams


Step 1

Preheat oven at 180º C. Slice tomatoes and onions.

Step 2

Put schezwan chutney and cheese spread in a bowl and mix well.

Step 3

Apply some of this mixture on each pizza base, top with some of the tomatoes and onions.

Step 4

Drizzle some of the pesto sauce on top and add sprinkle some of the grated cheese. Place the pizzas on a baking tray.

Step 5

Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Step 6

Remove from oven, transfer on a serving platter and serve immediately.
