Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Tadka Salad Recipe

  • Cucumber grated 1 medium

  • Carrot grated 1 medium

  • Cabbage grated 1 small

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1/2 cup

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and saute till it crackle.

Step 2

Add cucumber, carrot and cabbage and saute for a minute. Add salt and mix well and cook for two minutes.

Step 3

Remove the pan from heat and add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Serve hot.
