When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Stir Fried Garlic Chicken with Coriander Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into cubes 400 grams

  • Garlic chopped 3 tablespoons

  • Fresh coriander leaves with stems ¼ small bunch

  • Salt to taste

  • White pepper powder to taste

  • Dark soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Egg 1

  • Cornflour/ corn starch 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 1 tablespoon + to deep fry

  • Green chillies 3

  • Fish sauce 3 tablespoon

  • Sugar 1½ teaspoons

  • Lemon juice of ½ lemon

  • Fresh coriander sprigs for garnishing


Step 1

Take chicken cubes in a bowl. Add salt, 1 tablespoon garlic, pepper powder, ¼ tablespoon soy sauce and egg and mix well. Add cornflour and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a wok. Deep-fry marinated chicken cubes till chicken is fully cooked and golden. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 3

Finely chop coriander stems. Slice green chillies diagonally.

Step 4

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non-stick wok. Add remaining garlic and green chillies and sauté on high heat till garlic turns light brown.

Step 5

Add coriander stems, mix and sauté for 10 seconds. Add remaining soy sauce and fish sauce and toss to mix.

Step 6

Add sugar and mix well. Add fried chicken and toss well.

Step 7

Finely chop coriander leaves.

Step 8

Add lemon juice to the pan and toss. Add coriander leaves and toss again. Switch off heat.

Step 9

Serve hot garnished with coriander sprig.
