Ingredients for Spicy Corn Patties Recipe

  • Corn kernels boiled 2 cups

  • Maize flour (makai ka atta) ½ cup

  • Green chilli finely chopped 1

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger finely chopped 2 teaspoons

  • Cumin seeds ½ teaspoon

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Rice flour 2 tablespoons

  • Bread crumbs ½ cup

  • Salt ½ teaspoon

  • Oil for shallow-frying + for greasing

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Grind together corn kernels, red chilli powder, ginger, green chilli, cumin seeds, lemon juice, coriander leaves with some water to a smooth paste.

Step 2

Put maize flour, rice flour, breadcrumbs in a bowl. Add salt and mix well. Add ground paste and mix well.

Step 3

Heat some oil on a non-stick tawa.

Step 4

Grease palms with oil, shape the mixture into patties.

Step 5

Shallow-fry the patties on hot tawa, turning sides, till crisp and brown on both the sides.

Step 6

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
