Soya Shammi Kebab

With the recognition of being an important commercial pulse of the world, soya beans are coming into many kitchens around the world. Ingredients for Soya Shammi Kebab Recipe

  • Soya Nuggets soaked in hot water 2 cups

  • Split Bengal Gram 6 tablespoons

  • Garlic 5 cloves

  • Ginger 1 inch piece

  • Split Bengal gram (chana dal) soaked 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tablespoon

  • Pomegranate (anar) 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non stick pan. Roughly chop garlic and ginger and add to the pan and saute till fragrant.

Step 2

Drain and add chana dal along with soya nuggets, salt, garam masala powder, red chilli powder and mix well. Add pomegranate seeds and a little water and cook till the dal is cooked and mixture is dry.

Step 3

Cool and grind till smooth. Transfer into a bowl.

Step 4

Heat 4 tbsps oil in a non stick pan.Divide the mixture into equal portions, roll into balls and then flatten slightly. Place them in the pan and shallow-fry, turning sides, till golden on both sides.

Step 5

Serve hot.
