Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Sitaphal Basoondi Recipe

  • Custard apples (sitaphal/sharifa) ripe, seeded and pulp removed 4

  • Milk 2 litre, reduced to 1 litre

  • Sweet condensed milk (200 gms) 1/2 tin

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon


Step 1

Heat milk in a wide and shallow non-stick pan, stirring occasionally, till it reduces further.

Step 2

Add condensed milk and mix. Add green cardamom powder and custard apple pulp and mix well.

Step 3

Transfer into individual bowls, sprinkle almonds and pistachios, chill and serve.
