Ingredients for Olive Upma Recipe

  • Black olives sliced 10-12

  • Semolina 1 cup

  • Extra virgin olive oil 3 tablespoons

  • Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon

  • Curry leaves 5-6

  • Onion chopped 1 large

  • Green chillies chopped 3-4

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Heat extra virgin olive oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. When the seeds splutter, add onion and sauté till lightly coloured.

Step 2

Add semolina and stir. Add green chillies and stir. Add two and a half cups of water, salt to taste and mix. Add the olives and mix.

Step 3

Reduce heat, cover and cook till all the water is absorbed. While serving you can pack the upma in small moulds and unmould them in serving plates.

Step 4

Serve hot.
