How to make Nrg (Energy) Dosa - A highly nutritious snack that is so tasty that the kids will simply love it

How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Ingredients for Nrg (Energy) Dosa Recipe

  • Rice flour 1/4 cup

  • Whole wheat flour 1/4 cup

  • Soya flour 1/4 cup

  • Nachni/ragi flour 1/4 cup

  • Buttermilk as required

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Green chillies chopped 2

  • Oil for shallow frying

  • Tomato ketchup as required


Step 1

Mix the rice, wheat, soya and nachni flours with the buttermilk to make a smooth batter. Add the salt, fresh coriander and green chillies and mix well. Let the batter rest for about fifteen minutes.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick pan. Put two drops of oil and wipe the tawa clean with a wet muslin cloth. Add a tablespoon of oil to the tawa and pour half a ladleful of batter and spread it to a thin three inch round. Drizzle a little oil all around.

Step 3

When the underside is done, flip and fry the other side similarly. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
