Ingredients for Makhana Paratha Recipe

  • Whole wheat flour 1 1/2 cups

  • Makhane 12-15

  • Wheat bran 2 tablespoons

  • Potatoes boiled peeled and grated 4 medium

  • Green chillies roughly chopped 2

  • Dried pomegranate seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Chopped fresh coriander 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to shallow fry

Method

Step 1

Grind makhane, green chillies, pomegranate seeds to a coarse powder.

Step 2

Combine the mixture in a bowl along with potatoes, coriander and salt in a bowl.

Step 3

Combine whole wheat flour, wheat bran and salt in a bowl. Add sufficient water and knead to a soft dough.

Step 4

Divide both the stuffing and dough into equal portions. Roll a portion of dough into ball and flatten.

Step 5

Roll into a thick parantha and stuff the potato filling. Seal the edges and roll into a thick parantha.

Step 6

Heat a non-stick tawa. Place the parantha and roast till golden. Drizzle oil and cook.

Step 7

Serve hot.
