Ingredients for Macaroni and Cheese with Sausages Recipe

  • Macaroni 200 grams

  • Cheddar cheese grated 1 cup

  • Chicken sausages 6

  • Butter 3 tablespoons

  • Refined flour (maida) 2 tablespoons

  • Milk 2 cups

  • Olive oil 2 tablespoons

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

  • Fresh cream whipped 1 1/2 cups

  • Nutmeg powder a pinch


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180° C. To make white sauce, melt 2 tbsps butter in a non stick pan, add refined flour and cook, stirring continuously.

Step 2

Slowly add milk and whisk continuously to avoid lumps.

Step 3

Turn off the heat and add cheddar cheese and whisk some more.

Step 4

Halve the chicken sausages slit the edges. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in another non stick pan.

Step 5

Add onion and sauté for a minute. Add garlic and sauté till translucent.

Step 6

Add crushed black peppercorns and mix well. Add chicken sausages and sauté on a high heat.

Step 7

Add whipped cream to the white sauce and mix well. Add nutmeg powder and mix.

Step 8

Add macaroni to the chicken sausages and mix well. Pour the white sauce over the macaroni and mix.

Step 9

Transfer this mixture into a baking dish.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes. Serve hot.
