Ingredients for Lacquered Nuts Recipe

  • Cashewnuts ½ cup

  • Almonds ½ cup

  • Oil for deep-frying

  • Garlic Powder 1 teaspoon

  • Onion powder 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Paprika ½ teaspoon

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a pan.

Step 2

To prepare spice mix, combine garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, paprika, castor sugar and salt in a bowl and mix well.

Step 3

Deep-fry almonds in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle some spice mix on top. Similarly, prepare cashewnuts. Set aside to cool.

Step 4

Store in an air-tight jar and serve.
