Ingredients for Kombdi Pulava Kabab Recipe

  • Chicken breasts 8

  • Onions 3 medium

  • Almonds blanched and ground 1/4 cup

  • Yogurt 1/2 cup

  • Black peppercorns crushed 1/2 tablespoon

  • Ginger paste 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic paste 1/2 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Black salt (kala namak) 1/4 teaspoon

  • Ghee 1/4 cup

  • Lemon cut into wedges 2


  • Coriander seeds 2 tablespoons

  • Green cardamoms 4

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Cloves 4


Step 1

Slit the chicken breasts into two and then cut into strips. Put the chicken strips into a bowl. Peel, wash and cut onions into thin slices. Deep fry till golden brown.

Step 2

Grind into a paste using half of the yogurt. Peel, wash ginger and grind to a paste. Make a paste of almonds.

Step 3

Dry roast cinnamon, coriander seeds, cloves and green cardamoms and powder them. Crush the peppercorns. Roll the chicken strips around toothpicks.

Step 4

Place this skewered chicken in a bowl. Add browned onion paste, remaining yogurt, almond paste and mix well.

Step 5

Add the roasted spice powder and crushed peppercorns and mix.
