Ingredients for Honey Soya Fish With Chilli Pomegranate Salsa Recipe

  • Honey 2 teaspoons

  • Dark Soy Sauce 1 teaspoon

  • Basa fillets cut into 1½ inch pieces

  • Crushed red chillies 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh pomegranate pearls 1 cup

  • Shallot 8-10

  • Salt to taste

  • Green capsicum 1/2 medium bunch

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Onions chopped 1/2 cup

  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2 medium

  • Fresh coriander leaves a few

  • Lemon 1

Method

Step 1

Place the fish in a bowl, add soy sauce, honey, ½ tsp crushed red chillies and mix well. Add shallots and salt and mix and set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

Chop green capsicum into small pieces. Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non stick pan, add the marinated shallots and cover and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Step 3

Add the fish pieces and sauté on medium heat. Place the pomegranate pearls in a bowl, add onions, tomatoes and green capsicum. Finely chop coriander and add along with the remaining crushed red chillies.

Step 4

Turn the fish pieces in the pan and cook till it is well done on both sides. Squeeze the juice of a lemon and add to the salsa and mix all the ingredients well. Add salt and mix.

Step 5

Transfer the fish and shallots onto a serving plate and serve hot with the pomegranate salsa.
