Ingredients for Green Masala Fish Fry Recipe

  • Fish Surmai, cut into darnes 1 medium

  • Fresh coriander leaves ½ medium bunch + for garnishing

  • Green chillies 2-3

  • Garlic cloves 6-8

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Semolina (rawa/suji) ½ cup

  • Rice flour 1 tablespoon

  • Oil for shallow frying

  • Lemon ½ for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Grind together coriander leaves, green chillies, garlic cloves, salt and lemon juice with some water to a smooth paste.

Step 2

Take fish darnes in a bowl. Add salt and mix. Add ground paste and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3

Spread semolina on a plate. Add rice flour and mix well.

Step 4

Coat each marinated fish darn with semolina mixture.

Step 5

Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Shallow-fry the fish, turning sides, till evenly cooked, golden and crisp on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 6

Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves and halved lemon.
