Ingredients for Dahi Bhaat Recipe

  • Yogurt 1 1/2 cups

  • Rice 3 cups

  • Milk 1 1/2 cups

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Asafoetida 1/4 teaspoon

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Curry leaves 9-10

  • Dried red chillies seeded 2

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Carrot grated 2 tablespoons

  • Cucumber grated 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Place yogurt in a bowl and whisk well. Add rice and mash while mixing. Add milk and mix well. Keep the mixture aside for 4 hours.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves, dried red chilies, ginger, and sauté till fragrant.

Step 3

Pour it over the rice mixture. Add carrot, cucumber and salt and mix well. Serve cold.
