Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Crusty Herbed Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken cut into four pieces 800 grams

  • Parsley to taste

  • Lemon juice 3 tablespoons

  • Basil leaves 4-5

  • Fresh parsley 1/2 bunch

  • Fresh coriander leaves 1/2 bunch

  • Thyme 1 sprigs

  • Rosemary 1 sprigs

  • Olive oil 6 tablespoons

  • Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard paste 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh bread crumbs 1 cup

  • Carrots chopped 2 medium

  • Celery chopped 2-3 stalks

  • Leeks chopped 2

  • Garlic crushed 8 cloves


Step 1

Preheat oven to 200ºC. Sprinkle salt and lemon juice on the chicken pieces and spread evenly. Let it stand for five minutes.

Step 2

Chop fresh basil leaves, parsley and fresh coriander leaves finely. Add fresh thyme and fresh rosemary to the chopped fresh herbs.

Step 3

Heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a grill pan. Place the chicken pieces in it and seer them on both the sides.

Step 4

Make slits on the chicken pieces. Take the chopped fresh herbs in a bowl, add Worcestershire sauce and mustard paste and mix.

Step 5

Put this stuffing into the slits on the chicken pieces. Take fresh breadcrumbs in a plate and roll the chicken pieces in it pressing lightly so that the breadcrumbs stick onto the surface.

Step 6

Place the mixed vegetables and garlic on a baking tray. Place the chicken pieces on the vegetables.

Step 7

Pour the remaining olive oil on them and place the tray in the preheated oven. Bake at 200º for fifteen minutes.

Step 8

Serve hot.
