Ingredients for Chicken and Drumsticks with Yogurt Recipe

  • Chicken on Bone cut into 8-10 pieces on the bone 750 grams

  • Drumsticks scraped and cut into 2 inch pieces 3

  • Thick yogurt 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cloves 5-6

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Shallots 10-12

  • Curry leaves 12-15

  • Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons

  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2 medium

  • Coriander powder 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Heat 1 cup water in a non-stick pan, add drumstick pieces, salt and turmeric powder and mix well. Cover and cook till the drumsticks are done.

Step 2

Heat oil in another non-stick pan, add cloves, onion and shallots and sauté till lightly browned. Add curry leaves and mix well. Add ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Add tomatoes and mix well. Cook till the tomatoes are soft. Add coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix well.

Step 3

Add chicken pieces and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Cover and cook on high heat till the chicken pieces turn brown.

Step 4

Put yogurt in a bowl and whisk well and add to the pan. Add drumsticks with stock and garam masala powder and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat till the chicken is done.

Step 5

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve immediately.
