Ingredients for Chicken With Orange And Figs In Barbecue Sauce Recipe

  • Chicken 800 grams

  • Oranges 2

  • Figs 8

  • Butter 4 tablespoons

  • FOR SAUCE

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Onion chopped 1 medium

  • Garlic crushed 6 cloves

  • Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon

  • English mustard powder 2 teaspoons

  • Tomato ketchup 1/2 cup

  • Red chilli flakes 1/2 teaspoon

  • Peppercorns freshly ground 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Cut the chicken into eight pieces. Cut the oranges into six segments each. Soak the figs in water for some time.

Step 2

Heat oil in a saucepan and add chopped onions, crushed garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder and tomato ketchup. Add red chilli flakes and freshly ground peppercorns and stir.

Step 3

Remove from heat. Add salt and sugar and mix well. Cool the marinade. Add the marinade to the chicken and figs and let it stand for about an hour.

Step 4

Take the skewers and thread an orange segment, a chicken piece, a fig and continue in this order.

Step 5

Press them a little and arrange them on the barbecue. Baste them with butter occasionally and when they turn brown and the chicken is cooked it is ready to be served.
