Ingredients for Chapatti Upma Recipe

  • Chapatis hand torn 3 cups

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Curry leaves 4-5

  • Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon

  • Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal) 1/4 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopped 2-3

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida a pinch

  • Onion chopped 3/4 cup

  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in non stick pan add curry leaves, cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

Step 2

When mustard seeds starts spluttering add urad dal and saute for a minute.Add green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and salt and saute for a minute.

Step 3

Add onions and saute till light brown.Add chapatis and saute for a minute.Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
