Ingredients for California Salad Recipe

  • Lettuce torn and soaked in chilled water 1 large

  • Carrots grated 4 medium

  • Cherry tomatoes halved 18-20

  • Celery thinly sliced 4 stalks

  • Seedless raisins 1 cup

  • Almonds blanched and halved 1 cup

  • Chironji 4 tablespoons

  • Sesame seeds (til) roasted 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns freshly ground 15-20

  • For dressing

  • Extra-virgin olive oil 3 tablespoon

  • Cider vinegar 2 tablespoons

  • Honey 2 teaspoon

  • Orange juice 4 tablespoons


Step 1

Place all the salad vegetables, raisins, almonds, charoli and sesame seeds in a large bowl.

Step 2

Place all the dressing ingredients in a small glass jar and shake well to mix.

Step 3

Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well too mix. Serve chilled, sprinkled with salt and freshly ground peppercorns.
