Ingredients for Batter Fried Mixed Nuts Recipe

  • Almonds 15-20

  • Cashewnuts 15-20

  • Peanuts 1/4 cup

  • Gram flour (besan) 1 cup

  • Rice flour 2 tablespoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

  • Soda bicarbonate 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Dry roast almonds, cashewnuts and peanuts separately for three to four minutes or till crisp. In a large bowl combine gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, soda bicarbonate and salt.

Step 2

Add enough water to make a thick batter and whisk till smooth. Add the roasted nuts in the batter and mix. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry the nuts, one by one, till crisp and golden brown.

Step 3

Remove with a slotted spoon and drain onto an absorbent paper. Sprinkle chaat masala and serve.
