Ingredients for Apple Basanthi Recipe

  • Apple 2 medium

  • Milk 5 cups

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Almonds 6-8

  • Pistachios 6-8

  • Kewra water 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Blanch almonds and pistachios in boiling water for two to three minutes. Drain, peel and cut into slivers. Heat milk in a thick-bottomed vessel and bring to a boil.

Step 2

Reduce heat, add sugar and allow to simmer on low heat for fifteen to twenty minutes till thick and creamy. Remove from heat and allow to cool.Wash, peel and grate apples and immediately add to the cooled milk to avoid discoloring.

Step 3

Add the slivered nuts and kewra water to the milk and stir. Serve chilled.
