Ingredients for Aloe Vera Rice Kheer Recipe

  • Aloe vera 1

  • Rice soaked 3/4 cup

  • Turmeric powder a pinch

  • Ghee 2 tablespoons

  • Cashewnuts 10-12

  • Milk 5 cups

  • Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Saffron (kesar) a few

Method

Step 1

Cut the bottom portion of aloe vera and keep aside until the sticky juice is drained off. Remove the skin and cut into 1 inch cubes.

Step 2

Heat water in a deep non stick pan, add turmeric powder and aloe vera pieces. Boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Strain the aloe vera. Repeat this process 4 to 5 times

Step 3

Heat ghee in another non stick pan, add cashewnuts and sauté till golden. Add aloe vera pieces and sauté for 2 minutes.

Step 4

Drain and add rice and sauté. Add milk and cook, stirring continuously for 20 to 25 minutes.

Step 5

Add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron and stir till the sugar dissolves. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot or cold as desired.
