Ingredients for Aam ka Abshola Recipe

  • Raw mangoes (kacche aam) boiled 500 grams

  • Cumin seeds 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh mint leaves 1/2 cup

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 2 teaspoons

  • Ice cubes as required

  • Raw mango slices for garnishing


Step 1

Dry roast cumin seeds in a non-stick pan till fragrant.

Step 2

Peel raw mangoes and squeeze out the pulp.

Step 3

Heat a piece of coal.

Step 4

Put mint leaves, mango pulp (reserving some in a bowl) and sugar in a blender jar and blend well.

Step 5

Crush cumin seeds in a mortar with a pestle.

Step 6

Place a small bowl in the middle of reserved mango pulp and put the hot coal in it, pour oil over the hot coal and cover immediately.

Step 7

Add crushed cumin seeds and salt to the blender jar and blend again.

Step 8

Remove the coal and add the reserved mango pulp to the blender jar and blend well. Add 2 cups water and ice cubes and blend again.

Step 9

Pour into individual glasses, garnish with raw mango slices and serve chilled.
