Ingredients for Spicy Chicken Legs Recipe

  • Chicken legs 4

  • Dried red chillies soaked ½ cup

  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Crushed black peppercorns 1 teaspoon

  • Onion 1 medium

  • Garlic cloves 6-8

  • Tomato ketchup 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 1 tablespoon + for greasing

Method

Step 1

Make incisions on the chicken leg pieces and place them in a bowl.Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice, salt and a little crushed black pepper, mix well and set aside to marinate for 5-10 minutes.

Step 2

Roughly chop onion and put into a grinder jar. Add garlic and red chillies. Grind to a coarse paste.

Step 3

Add remaining lemon juice, salt, remaining crushed peppercorns and tomato ketchup and grind again.

Step 4

Add the ground paste to chicken and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30-40 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat oven at 180ºC. Grease a baking tray with oil.

Step 6

Heat oil in a non-stick pan and place chicken legs on it.Cook on high heat for 2 minutes on each side.

Step 7

Place the seared chicken legs on the greased baking tray. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes.

Step 8

Serve hot.
