When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Spiced Chicken Recipe

  • Chicken on the bone cut into pieces 750 grams

  • Coriander seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Cloves 5-6

  • Green cardamoms 6-8

  • Black peppercorns 6-8

  • Cinnamon 1 inch

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 inch

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Green chillies 1-2

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespo for garnishing

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Onion sliced 1 medium


Step 1

Dry-roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves, cardamoms, peppercorns and cinnamon in a non-stick pan till fragrant.

Step 2

Grind together roasted spices, ginger, garlic and broken green chillies with some water and coriander leaves to a smooth paste.

Step 3

Take chicken in a bowl. Add ground paste and mix. Add salt and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onion and sauté till golden. Add marinated chicken and mix. Add some water, mix, cover and cook till the chicken is done.

Step 5

Serve hot garnished with a coriander sprig.
