Ingredients for Southern Style Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

  • Chicken drumsticks 8

  • Tomato ketchup ½ cup

  • Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger grated 1 inch

  • brown sugar/jaggery 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for greasing

  • Sauce

  • Tomato ketchup 2-3 tablespoons

  • Cider vinegar 2 teaspoons

  • brown sugar/jaggery ½ teaspoon

  • Red chilli flakes ½ teaspoon

  • Birds eye chillies chopped 1-2

  • Fresh parsley chopped 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Take chicken drumsticks in a bowl. Add tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, ginger, brown sugar, garlic and onion and mix well. Add salt and mix. Set aside to marinate for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Preheat oven to180° C. Grease a baking tray with some oil.

Step 3

Place the marinated chicken on it and apply the leftover marinade on the pieces. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 4

To make the sauce, take tomato ketchup, cider vinegar, brown sugar, chilli flakes, bird’s eye chillies and parsley in a bowl and mix well.

Step 5

Drizzle the sauce on the baked chicken drumsticks, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
