Ingredients for Shish Taouk Recipe

  • Boneless chicken legs, cut into 1½ inch pieces 250 grams

  • Hung curd ½ cup

  • Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Tomato puree 1 tablespoon

  • Lemon juice ½ tablespoon

  • Cumin powder ½ teaspoon

  • Paprika 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh oregano sprigs 1-2

  • Olive oil 1 tablespo for cooking

  • Onion rings for garnishing

  • Lemon wedges 1 for garnishing

  • Fresh parsley sprig for garnishing


Step 1

Take hung yogurt, garlic, tomato puree, lemon juice, cumin powder, paprika, salt, torn oregano sprigs and 1 tablespoon olive oil in a bowl and mix Add chicken and mix well. Set aside to marinate for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2

Insert the marinated chicken pieces onto metal skewers.

Step 3

Heat a non-stick griller and grease with some olive oil. Place the skewers on it and grill, rotating the skewers and basting with olive oil, till the chicken is golden from all sides and cooked.

Step 4

Serve hot garnished with onion rings, a lemon wedge and a parsley sprig.
