Ingredients for Matar Mushroom Bharta Recipe

  • Frozen Green Peas 1 cup

  • Button Mushrooms 10-12

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Tomato puree 1/4 cup

  • Ginger strips for garnishing


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and let them change colour. Add onion and sauté till translucent. Add ginger and garlic and sauté till fragrant.

Step 2

Finely chop mushrooms in a food processor and add to the pan and mix well. Add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix well. Add tomato puree and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat till the mushrooms are done.

Step 3

Add green peas and mix well and cook till the peas are heated through.

Step 4

Transfer onto a serving plate, garnish with ginger strips and serve hot.
