Ingredients for Matar Ka Chaat Recipe

  • Fresh Green Peas boiled 2 cups

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Tomato finely chopped 1 medium

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Tamarind paste 3 teaspoons

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • For garnishing

  • Tamarind chutney

  • Potato salli


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté till fragrant. Add green chillies and sauté for a minute.

Step 2

Add green peas, mix well and mash with a masher.

Step 3

Add red chilli powder, chaat masala and salt, mix well and sauté for a minute.

Step 4

Switch off the heat and transfer the pea mixture into a bowl. Add onion, tomato, tamarind paste and lemon juice and mix well.

Step 5

Transfer into small serving bowls, garnish with tamarind chutney and potato salli and serve.
