Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Mango Potato Recipe

  • Mango pulp 1 cup

  • Potatoes cut into small pieces 4 medium

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Curry leaves 4-5

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Fenugreek seeds (Methi dana) 1 teaspoon

  • Onion chopped 1 medium

  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Heat oil in a non stick pan add curry leaves, cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds. When cumin seeds starts spluttering add onions and saute till light golden brown.

Step 2

Add potatoes, salt cover and cook till potatoes are done.

Step 3

Add mango puree and mix well.

Step 4

Serve hot.
