Ingredients for Makai Aur Cornflakes Ki Bhurji Recipe

  • Sweet corn kernels boiled and crushed 2 cups

  • Cornflour/ corn starch crushed 1/2 cup

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Asafoetida a pinch

  • Green chilli finely chopped 1

  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2 medium

  • Onions finely chopped 2 medium

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 teaspoons


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and once the seeds start changing colour, add asafoetida.

Step 2

Add green chilli and onions and sauté till translucent.

Step 3

Add tomatoes and sauté for four to five minutes or till the tomatoes become soft.

Step 4

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and mix well.

Step 5

Sprinkle two tablespoons of water and cook for a minute. Add corn kernels and mix well. Cover and cook on low heat for four to five minutes.

Step 6

Add lemon juice and mix well.

Step 7

Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves and cornflakes.
