Ingredients for Kurmure ka Upma Recipe

  • Puffed Rice 3 cups

  • Roasted Peanuts 1/4 cup

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Onion finely chopped 1 medium

  • Curry leaves 10-12

  • Carrot grated 1/4 cup

  • Green capsicum finely chopped 1 medium

  • Green chillies 2-3

  • Rasam powder 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon 1/2

Method

Step 1

Place a strainer over a bowl, put the puffed rice into the strainer and pour over it so they become moist.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add peanuts and onion and sauté till the onion turns translucent. Add curry leaves and carrot and mix well. Add capsicum and mix well.

Step 3

Finely chop green chillies and add. Add rasam powder and mix well. Add puffed rice and mix well. Add salt and mix well. Squeeze the juice of ½ lemon and add and mix well. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4

Transfer onto a serving plate and serve hot.
