Ingredients for Kachche Aam ki Kadhi Recipe

  • Raw Mangoes peeled and cut into large pieces 2

  • Gram Flour 1/2 cup

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1 teaspoon

  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Spring onions with greens 2-3

  • Dried red chillies 2-3

  • Curry leaves 10-12

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Grated jaggery 2 tablespoons


Step 1

Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan, add fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds and let them splutter.

Step 2

Roughly chop spring onions with green and add to the pan and mix well. Add dried red chillies and mix well. Add curry leaves and mix well.

Step 3

Put half the raw mango pieces in a mixer jar with 2-3 tbsps water, grind to a smooth paste and transfer into a bowl. Add gram flour and whisk well. Add turmeric powder, salt and 1 cup water and whisk well.

Step 4

Add gram flour batter to the pan and mix well. Add salt and 2-3 tbsps water and mix well. Add remaining mango pieces and mix well. Add red chilli powder and mix well. Add jaggery and mix well. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously. Adjust seasoning if required.

Step 5

Serve hot.
