Ingredients for Green Peas and Pista Burfi Recipe

  • Green Peas blanched 1 cup

  • Pistachios blanched peeled and thinly sliced 1/2 cup

  • Pure ghee 3 tbsps + for greasing

  • Grated khoya/mawa 2 cups

  • Sugar 3/4 cup

  • Green cardamom powder 3/4 teaspoon


Step 1

Put green peas in a mixer jar, add a little water and grind.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add ground peas and saute, stirring continuously till all the moisture evaporates.

Step 3

Add mawa and mix well and continue to saute till well blended. Add sugar and mix and saute.

Step 4

Grease an aluminium tray with ghee.

Step 5

Add green cardamom powder and mix and saute. Add half the pistachios and mix well.

Step 6

Pour the mixture into the tray and spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining pistachios over and let it cool down to room temperature.

Step 7

Keep the tray in the refrigerator to set. Cut into small squares and serve.
