You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Cream brulee Recipe

  • Egg yolks

  • Heavy Cream 2 1/2 cups

  • Vanilla essence 1/2 teaspoon

  • Sugar 6 tablespoons

  • Brown sugar 2 tablespoons


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 150°C.

Step 2

Beat egg yolks with four tablespoons sugar and vanilla essence till thick and creamy.

Step 3

Take the cream in a deep non-stick pan and bring it to boil. Remove the cream and put it in the egg yolk mixture and mix till well combined.

Step 4

Take the cream mixture on a double boiler and keep stirring till the mixture coats the back of the spoon.Remove the mixture and pour it in oven proof dish. Bake in the preheated oven for thirty minutes.

Step 5

Remove and set aside to cool. Refrigerate it for an hour.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to broil. In a small bowl combine the remaining sugar and brown sugar. Sift the sugar evenly over custard.

Step 7

Place the dish under broiler till the sugar melts. Remove and allow to cool.
