Ingredients for Cinnamon Chilli Chocolate Cookies Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 2¼ cups

  • Cinnamon powder 2 teaspoons

  • Red chilli powder ½ teaspoon

  • Cocoa powder ½ cup

  • Baking soda 1 teaspoon

  • coarse salt ½ teaspoon

  • Unsalted butter room temperature 1 cup

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) 1¾ cups

  • Eggs 2 large


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180° C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt into a bowl.

Step 3

Cream together butter and 1½ cups castor sugar in another bowl till light and fluffy.

Step 4

Add eggs and beat well. Add flour mixture and beat till well combined into a dough.

Step 5

Mix together remaining castor sugar, cinnamon powder and chilli powder in a third bowl.

Step 6

Divide the dough into 16 equal portions and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place them on the lined tray, place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, turning them once halfway through. Remove from oven and cool.

Step 7

Serve or store in an airtight container.
