Ingredients for Cheese Souffle Recipe

  • Gruyere cheese base 4 teaspoons

  • Egg whites 4

  • Butter for greasing

  • Salt a pinch

  • Cheese sauce as required

  • Chives thin strips as required

  • Crushed black peppercorns to sprinkle


Step 1

Grease individual glass bowls with some butter and refrigerate.

Step 2

Heat some water in a non-stick deep-pan. Place a steamer and cover.

Step 3

Take egg whites in a bowl. Add salt and whisk well with an electric beater till soft and fluffy. Add Gruyere cheese base and fold in well.

Step 4

Pour this mixture into the glass bowls. Place them in the steamer, cover and steam on low heat for 5-8 minutes. Remove from steam and demould.

Step 5

Place in individual serving bowls and pour some cheese sauce over. Garnish with chive strips and sprinkle some crushed peppercorns on top.

Step 6

Serve immediately.
